Cincuenta años de la revista "Útimos Avances enMateriales de Construcción" Esto se ha tratado de llevar a cabo en la presente exposición teniendo en cuenta cuatro períodos de dicha vida: "Prehistoria" (Antecedentes), "Protohistoria" (La Revista), relativa a Los Cien Primeros Números de la misma, "Historia Moderna", en la que se trata de sus Cien Segundos Números, e "Historia Contemporánea", en la cual se describe brevemente el estado actual de la Revista.La descripción ha sido realizada con un propósito analítico y crítico, poniendo el énfasis en toda clase de aspectos.
Una de las labores del historiador y del investigador es el estudio de todas aquellas piezas que por su importancia susciten interés desde el punto de vista arqueológico e histórico, sea cual sea su naturaleza. No ha sido éste un parecer común en tiempos pasados. Por ello, quizás, algunas piezas y objetos de indudable valor han sido ocultados o poco estudiados, ciertamente por una equivocada interpretación de su funcionalidad. Nos referimos ahora concretamente a los amuletos fálicos, cuyo contenido real ha sufrido graves distorsiones y algunas interpretaciones que no se adecúan a la realidad. Dos circunstancias, a nuestro modo de ver, han impedido que lleguemos a conocer no sólo su descripción, forma, tipo, etc, sino a veces su simple existencia.
Las concepciones mágicas animistas aceptaban que todos los objetos contenían materia y espíritu. No hacían distinción entre la parte y el conjunto, lo visible y lo invisible, la imagen y el modelo. Por consiguiente, el mundo podía ser manipulado por los conceptos de contacto, similitud y contraste.
Resulta muy satisfactorio que, con motivo del II centenario de la Revolución Francesa, se hayan organizado estas Jornadas sobre «Revolución y revoluciones en el mundo antiguo». Primero porque entenderemos que la Revolución Francesa, ese acontecimiento que dio paso al mundo contemporáneo, no ha sido la única que se ha llevado a cabo en la Historia, y segundo porque nos dará pie para observar otros modos y maneras de Revolución.
