Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Hyperkinetic Disorder is a neuropsychiatric condition affecting preschoolers, children, adolescents, and adults around the world, characterized by a pattern of diminished sustained attention, and increased impulsivity or hyperactivity. Onset in childhood, probably mediated by decreased brain dopaminergic functioning. We present a case of 6 yrs. old boy reported to outpatient department of National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental health, Kottayam. Presenting complaints were restlessness, lack of attention and concentration in studies and impulsivity along with recurrent attack of eczema on feet, who was treated with homoeopathic medicines Tuberculinum and Sulphur. A significant improvement in Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Parent and Teacher Ratings Scales were noted along with positive response in Eczema within one year. It is clearly apparent from this evidence-based case report that homoeopathy has a positive role in the treatment of Hyperkinetic disorder.
Depression is a common mental disorder that presents with depressed mood, loss of interest or pleasure, decreased energy, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, and poorconcentration. A case of 53 years old female is reported to out patient department of National homoeopathy research institute in mental health, Kottayam on 25/10/19 with symptoms of severe depression with eczema on the right hand. Ignatia was selected after detailed case taking and Repertorization with due consultation with Materia Medica. Patient showed positive response in eczema with improvement in mental symptoms. A significant improvement according to Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and Beck depression inventory were observed. This document shows another aspect of healing of psychological disorders through homoeopathy along with improvement of skin symptoms.
Dhat syndrome is described as a culture bound syndrome (CBS) and it is characterized by undue concern about the debilitating effects of the passage of semen. It may cause intense weakness, anxiety and low mood with reduction in their normal functioning. Here we presented a case of a 20yrs old male patient who came to OPD of National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health, Kottayam with involuntary passage of semen at night with intense weakness of body and fear that he will diesoon. He attributed all his somatic complaints to seminal loss and he says that his genital organs would fall down if it is not supported and he could die soon. He was treated with homoeopathic medicine Staphysagria-1M.Got marked improvement in physical and mental symptoms within 3 months of treatment. As we all know, homoeopathic medicines are effective in treating diseases which are arise from emotional causes. This case report shows the effectiveness of homoeopathic medicine in Dhat-Koro syndrome.
Warts are common benign epithelial hyperplasia due to infection with human papilloma viruses (HPV). Papilloma viruses are double stranded DNA viruses of the PAPOVA class with host and tissue specificity. They infect squamous epithelia of skin and mucous membrane causing cell proliferation. Currently, more than 150 types of HPV have been identified. Certain HPV types tend to infect skin at particular anatomical sites; however, warts of any HPV type may occur at any site. Here we present a case of 23yearold male with complaints of multiple warts on dorsum of right foot. After detailed case taking and repertorization, Medorrhinum was given as similimum. Patient reported complete disappearance of warts within a period of 3 months. The aim of article is to show the scope of homoeopathy in the management of warts.
