Each of us in our lives will face emergencies, whether a fire, accident, traffic collision or natural disaster, and it is crucial that we know how to recognise them and how to adequately react. The text presents the knowledge level in protection and safety among first to third grade primary school pupils living in socioeconomically marginalised localities, in Central Europ – specifically in the Czech Republic. Education of children and pupils in areas of ppilation protection is becoming the number on topic. The challenge is to alert and motivate teachers to continue with topics that develop not only knowledge but also the perception of the outside world and the awareness of threats and dangers that may affect the development of the child or pupil. The findings are the outcome from the project weeks implemented over two years and yielding interesting findings that formed the basis of practical recommendations.

The article discusses the programme of special education and its range of sub-fields. The introductory section summarises reflections on the origin of the field, philosophy and its formation, aims and target groups, paradigm shift and introduction of new methods and forms of pedagogical work in special education. The second part presents a new course Resocialisation and Prison Education in special education, which is one of the specialisations, pillars or schools of special education.
This paper focuses on legal and inclusive changes in Czech´s primary schools´ environment. Since 2016 Czech´s primary schools are including in the education of more pupils with intellectual disability. The following text is introducing the tools which support the idea of common education such as supportive adjustments, use of assistive services. Furthermore, it presents a reflection of this modern approach from perspectives of special pedagogy and social work.
