Na região do Baixo Amazonas há uma predominância de moluscos bivalves com potencial valor nutricional, mas poucas pesquisas são produzidas visando verificar tais potencialidades. A partir deste contexto, procurou-se estudar o teor nutricional de duas espécies de moluscos bivalves, Prisodon corrugatus e Prisodon obliquus. Para isso, foram coletadas amostras no rio Tapajós em Santarém-PA, e analisados os teores de umidade, proteína bruta, lipídios totais e matéria mineral e determinou-se os valores de carboidratos totais e energia bruta. As espécies de moluscos, P. obliquus e P. corrugatus apresentaram percentuais de umidade (78,80 % e 82,86 %), proteína (12,27 % e 10,66 %), lipídeos (1,25 % e 1,03 %), matéria mineral (1,74% e 1,35%), carboidratos (6,13 % e 4,10 %) e energia bruta (84,83 % e 68,23 %) diferindo-se entre si significativamente (P<0,05). Acredita-se que estes resultados são de grande valia para agregar valor de mercado e na questão alimentar, motivando a população da região do Baixo Amazonas, a introduzir os moluscos como fonte de alimento na dieta.
