Lightweight robots (LWR) offer the opportunity to make assembly more efficient. However, it is very time-consuming to change assembly tasks for robot systems, mainly because of the programming effort for specific variants. The article describes a method for the flexible use of LWR in different locations and tasks, making the change much more efficient by AutomationML-based evaluation and control. The method is exemplified on terminal block assembly.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
