The present study directs towards investigating the impact of local alliance on global performance of SMEs. In order to explore such impact, a conceptual three stage model has been developed covering three main variables: strategic alliance, developing firm specific advantages (FSAs), and internationalization. Qualitative and explorative descriptive studies on fifty SMEs of Khulna city, Bangladesh were carried out to detect the key underlying variables exist in the context. From the data recorded and archived a total of ten variables covering various types of strategic alliances were developed, in the next stage a total of 20 FSAs were identified which can be obtained through such alliances and in final stage again ten variables were detected that describe different internationalization competencies which can be developed through building those FSAs. This study contributed toward developing a model for successful alliance FSAs internationalization framework from the observations of the respondents firms.
This study conducted towards identifying practical scenario of effectiveness of regional integration on indicators of trade liberalization and economic growth. Empirical analysis using secondary yet quantitative data using eight ratio and trend analysis on 49 European countries (28 EU and 21 Non-EU) portrays outcome in favor of regional integration. While EU countries seem to be performing consistently in both the categories, Non-EU countries are lagging behind. This outcome comes in the support of the traditional supports of free trade and integration and declares that trade integration creates both dynamic and static effects and trades (open and participatory) actually benefit all.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the investors’ perceptions towards investment decision in stock market of Bangladesh and to compare the identified influential factors with respect to the demographic characteristics of the investors.
Methodology: Data have been collected from 160 investors of Dhaka Stock Exchange through structured closed-ended questionnaire designed with 5 point Likert scale having 25 variables. Factor analysis has been used to identify 7 core factors: internal, informational, economic, individual, strength and affordability, goodwill and external factor that are affecting investor’s preferences. Independent Samples t-test, ANOVA and Welch test have been used to identify gender, age, education and income wise differences.
Findings: The study found that there were no significance differences in 24 out of 25 variables in terms of gender, 20 out of 25 variables in terms of age, 10 out of 25 variables in terms of education and 23 out of 25 variables in terms of occupation of the investors.
