O trabalho objetivou realizar uma revisão bibliográfica com base em artigos a cerca do material reciclável, o vidro, desde seu processo de fabricação, reciclagem, logística reversa e, até mesmo, a atuação de cooperativas e a situação dos catadores frente à coleta deste material tão importante. Entre os resíduos sólidos gerados no Brasil, o vidro se destaca pelo seu volume elevado, sendo apenas 14% desse material destinado à reciclagem. A reciclagem normalmente é realizada pelas próprias empresas produtoras desses vidros, em um processo denominado de logística reversa. Assim, a logística reversa atua em parceria com a empresa e, principalmente, com o meio ambiente, não gerando tanto impacto ambiental, e otimizar matéria prima e energia, diminui os custos para a empresa desde sua produção. Além disso, a atuação de cooperativas na reciclagem possibilita que catadores tenham uma melhor qualidade de vida. Portanto, a reciclagem do vidro gera grandes benefícios para a sociedade e o meio ambiente.
Nos últimos anos, o intenso crescimento populacional tem sido responsável por diversos impactos ambientais oriundos de atividades antrópicas. Os corpos d’água são elementos fundamentais dos ecossistemas, e os macroinvertebrados são bioindicadores de poluição. O trabalho teve por objetivo comparar a diversidade de macroinvertebrados em ambientes sob diferentes pressões antrópicas, entre três pontos no arroio Monjolo, do município de Santo Cristo-RS. As coletas foram realizadas no mês de setembro de 2019, com o auxílio de um coletor tipo Surber, sendo revolvido o substrato. A identificação dos macroinvertebrados foi realizada através de um microscópio estereoscópio com o auxílio de bibliografias especializadas. Foram identificados 684 indivíduos pertencentes a 11 famílias, nos três pontos amostrados. Os grupos em maior abundância encontrados (Chironomidae e Biomphalaria) são resistentes à poluição, um indicativo de que as águas dos pontos amostrados possam estar poluídas e/ou contaminadas. Este estudo reforça a importância da análise de bioindicadores para a conservação de ecossistemas.
