El ímpetu por involucrar a más mujeres en áreas STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas), está presente en la producción de contenidos audiovisuales. El objetivo de esta investigación documental fue describir contenidos de este tipo en la plataforma YouTube que buscan fomentar las habilidades científicas en las niñas. El enfoque de la investigación fue cualitativo y exploratorio, se revisaron 242 producciones empleando la cartografía conceptual, en el que se incorporó un nuevo eje de análisis: el torytelling. Los resultados apuntan a que las niñas se asumen agentes de cambio, les motiva intervenir en su entorno más cercano capaz de beneficiar a su familia, amistades y/o comunidad. Además, las prácticas STEM para niñas funcionan mejor cuando son medibles, atractivas y alcanzables; la robótica es la más utilizada. Si se sigue ampliando la gama de actividades STEM y experimentos científicos en YouTube, se fortalecerán las vocaciones científicas en las niñas y la reducción de la brecha de género.
La violencia estructural hacia las mujeres en México también se vive en los entornos digitales; para conocer cómo las y los estudiantes de educación superior reconocen esta modalidad de violencia, se realizó una investigación cuantitativa para diseñar una estrategia de intervención de educación socio digital capaz de prevenir y erradicar la violencia de género en los entornos digitales. Se realizaron 318 encuestas en el Tecnológico Nacional de México, campus Querétaro, con una participación masculina del 61 por ciento y 39 por ciento de mujeres. Dentro de los hallazgos sobresalientes se destaca que la comunidad universitaria ha sido espectadora de actos de violencia digital en tres grandes categorías en las que se identifican el mayor número de víctimas o testigos: control, acoso y recepción de mensajes ofensivos, que reproducen estereotipos de género o que buscan dañar a las personas en distintos grados y formas. Si bien hombres y mujeres afirman haber sido víctimas de violencia digital, cuando se indaga sobre los agresores, se descubre que son ellas quienes son mayormente agredidas. La comunidad estudiantil se encuentra interesada en las consecuencias penales de los actos de violencia digital. Desconocen las rutas de acción en caso de vivir la violencia digital; plantean la necesidad de implementar talleres y charlas informativas sobre violencia digital que involucren la ciberseguridad y el amor propio. Además sugieren espacios de acompañamiento y escucha para víctimas de violencia digital.
