Communication is the basis of everything and is thus the key to effective project management. The question is "What is the relationship between the project management and communication?" Effective communication is one of the main elements of project management. Communication is a critical part between people, information, and ideas, and communication is the basis for project performance in organization. This chapter will be focused on "project communication management step by step." The chapter deals with all steps of project communication management which are defined as a combination of logical-related communication methods, tools, and techniques for a successful initialization, planning, implementation, control and administrative closure of the project communication. In the chapter communication environment (communication strategy, organizational structure), communication channel (communication methods, tools, frequency, and support of communication), communication cognitive (communication differences and skills), and communication system (feedback system and system of sharing and distribution of information) will be described.
Predictive maintenance is a maintenance strategy that applies advanced statistical methods and artificial intelligence to determine the appropriate maintenance time. The article focuses on future recommendations for industry and logistics to achieve a higher level of predictive maintenance maturity, which requires real-time monitoring of the state of the company's machinery and equipment. The article's main objective is to propose recommendations to increase effectiveness by improving the predictive maintenance maturity matrix from the current level to a higher level in the industrial enterprise. The current state of maturity has been indicated using the modified model of predictive maintenance and following recommendations from the document Manual for companies for the introduction of artificial intelligence. Simultaneously within the analysis, a predictive maintenance simulation was performed on a selected production line, including essential machines and equipment. The study also identified the individual assumptions (processes, data, infrastructure, personnel, applications, organization) necessary to implement predictive maintenance successfully. The presented case study results contribute to understanding how individual assumptions can be obtained for predictive maintenance improvement and how innovative solutions in the context of Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 can be achieved in enterprises.
Abstract. Environmental efforts of European Union are currently going towards circular economy. Tools like Extended Producer Responsibility and Eco-design were established. The circular economy deals with resources availability issue on one hand and waste management on the other hand. There are few pioneering companies all over the world with some kind of circular economy practice. Generally the concept is not very wide-spread. The paper aims to evaluate possibility of transition towards circular economy in Slovak industrial companies. They need to have an active approach to material treatment of their products after usage stage. Innovation is another important pre-condition for the transition. Main problem of current cradle to grave system is landfilling of valuable materials after one cycle of usage. Their potential value for next manufacturing cycles is lost. Companies may do not see connection between waste management and material resource prices and volatility of supplies. Municipalities are responsible for municipal waste collection and treatment in Slovakia. The circular economy operates by cradle to cradle principle. Company manages material flow until the material comes back to the beginning of manufacturing process by itself or by another partners. Stable material supplies with quite low costs are provided this way. It is necessary to deal with environmental problems in phase of product design. Questionnaire survey results show on one hand low involvement of industrial companies in waste management area, however on the other hand they are open to environmental innovations in future.
Human resource planning in the business practice should represent generally used and key activity for human resource management because human resource planning helps to make optimum utilisation of the human resources in the enterprise and it helps to avoid wastage of human resources. Human resource planning allows to forecast the future manpower requirements and also to forecast the number and type of employees who will be required by the enterprise in a near future. In the long term period, success of any enterprise depends on whether the right people are in the right places at the right time, which is the nature of human resource planning. The aim of this contribution is to explain the importance of human resource planning and to outline results of questionnaire survey which it was realized in industrial enterprises. Key wordshuman resource management, human resource planning, industrial enterprise
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
