Der Mechanismus dieser Reaktion, die über Nickel(III)‐Verbindungen verläuft, ähnelt der Wirkungsweise eines kupferhaltigen Enzyms, der Peptidylglycin α‐hydroxylierenden Monooxygenase (PHM).
