O deutschtum e a vocação para o trabalho: recriação do modo de vida "alemão -camponês" entre pomeranos no Espírito Santo Os dados revelam valorização elevada do trabalho, que é a principal -algumas vezes a única -atividade dos integrantes do grupo, em especial para as mulheres. Constatou-se ainda forte articulação entre o modo de organização do trabalho dos descendentes e a moral protestante, resultante da preservação da influência religiosa luterana, cuja atuação contribuiu fortemente para as tradições e para a história cultural do grupo.Palavras-chave: trabalho; igreja; pomeranos; família; tradição.
ABSTRACT:The present study examined work features, the conditions in which it is performed, and the conceptions about it in a group of Pomeranian descendents living in Espírito Santo state's countryside. The following spheres were addressed: religious, values and educational, in reference to the intergroup concept of working. Three aspects were highlighted: daily working routine, how work is organized and leisure moments. Data were collected from interviews with 36 participants living in countryside and small districts whose population is characterized by its high number of Pomeranian descendents. Data show that high appreciation of work, which is the mainly activity, sometimes the only, executed by the group members, specially the women. It was found strong articulation of the way work is organized by descendents with the Protestant moral, as a result of the preservation of religious Lutheran influence, which action strongly contributed for the group's traditions and its cultural history.
