In past issues of this Journal, studies have been published dealing with general chemistry workshop attendance and its effects on grades in introductory chemistry. Some articles report statistically significant improvements in the grades of workshop attendees, while others report no significant improvements. This author examines other variables that may contribute to workshop attendance and its effects on students' grades.
