079ChemInform Abstract The acetal (I) of acrolein serves as an excellent dienophile for Diels-Alder reactions as shown for the examples (II), (IV), (VI) and (VIII). The corresponding adducts are obtained in good to excellent yields, in part as mixtures of stereoisomers. In order to demonstrate the general scope of this cycloaddition type, the reaction of cyclohexadiene (IIa) with the acetals (X), (XII) and (XIV) is investigated yielding the adducts (XI), (XIII) and (XV) together with small amounts of their anti isomers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
