A produção de alface do tipo americana tem crescido em todo o Brasil nos últimos anos. O seu cultivo irrigado e em ambiente protegido pode garantir que o produto seja oferecido durante todo o ano. Desse modo, o trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar diferentes lâminas e frequências de irrigação sobre a produção da alface americana. O experimento foi realizado em telado agrícola, com as plantas cultivadas em vasos, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial de 3x5, referente a 3 frequências de irrigação (F1 -duas vezes ao dia; F2 -uma vez ao dia; F3 -dias alternados) e cinco lâminas de irrigação (L1-25%; L2-50%, L3-75%; L4-100% e L5-125% da Evaporação do minitanque, Evm). As variáveis analisadas foram: massa fresca comercial (MFC); altura da planta (AP) e uso eficiente da água (UEA). Concluiu-se que tanto o aumento da lâmina e como da frequência de irrigação promoveram aumento da produtividade da cultura. A resposta do UEA foi inversamente proporcional ao aumento da lâmina de irrigação. Contudo, as condições climáticas observadas, principalmente temperatura, não proporcionaram a formação da cabeça da alface americana, e consequentemente seu estiolamento.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a germinação e o desenvolvimento inicial da pinha (Annona squamosa L.), semeada em diferentes substratos. O experimento foi conduzido em telado agrícola (sombrite 50%) pertencente ao Instituto Federal do Ceará/Campus Sobral, no período de outubro a dezembro de 2018. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos [T1 -fibra de coco (FC); T2fibra de coco + esterco caprino (FC + EC); T3esterco caprino (EC); T4esterco caprino + solo (EC + S); e T5 -solo (So)], com quatro repetições, sendo 32 sementes por repetição. Aos 50 dias após a semeadura foram avaliados o percentual de germinação (G, %), a altura das plântulas (H, cm), o número de folhas (NF, unid), o diâmetro do caule (DC, mm), a massa fresca da parte aérea (MFA, g planta -1 ), a massa fresca total (MFT, g planta -1 ), a massa seca da parte aérea (MSA, g planta -1 ), a massa seca total (MST, g planta -1 ), a porcentagem de massa seca (PMS, %) e a porcentagem da massa da raiz na planta (PR, %). O substrato composto por fibra de coco e esterco caprino (1:1), é o mais indicado para a produção de mudas de pinha, por proporcionar melhor desenvolvimento inicial associado à boa percentagem de germinação. O substrato composto apenas por solo retarda a germinação das plântulas e proporciona menor desempenho para o desenvolvimento inicial de mudas de pinha, sendo recomendado seu uso misturado com outros materiais.
A alface (Lactuca sativa L.) está entre as hortaliças de grande importância na alimentação do brasileiro, sendo uma excelente fonte de vitaminas e sais minerais. Entretanto, seu cultivo é prejudicado devido às intempéries do clima, à presença de patógenos e ao ataque de pragas. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a reação de quatro variedades de alface à mosca minadora. A reação ao ataque do inseto foi verificada pela avaliação do percentual de plantas infestadas vinte dias após a semeadura. Os dados foram submetidos à ANOVA e submetidos ao teste de Duncan (P<0,05). Os resultados mostraram reação diferenciada entre as variedades de alface ao ataque da minadora, com a variedade Roxa apresentando alta resistência e variedade Americana demonstrando alta suscetibilidade à infestação de Liriomyza spp.
