Resumo: O presente estudo pretende contribuir com as discussões a respeito da necessidade de valorização dos profissionais de educação, principalmente sobre a remuneração dos contratados, especificamente do Município de Ouricuri Pernambuco. O mesmo traz como objetivo identificar os fatores responsáveis pela ocorrência do atraso na remuneração dos profissionais contratados, no âmbito da Secretaria de Educação do referido município. Com a finalidade de alcançar os objetivos propostos foi realizado entrevistas com os gestores onde constatou -se vários motivos que influenciam na gestão financeira causando irregularidade no pagamento de professores contratados. De acordo com a pesquisa, conclui -se que uma das causas do atraso das folhas de pagamento esta relacionado aos repasses do governo federal, pois o município não dispõe de recurso suficiente e depende da complementação da verba federal. Outro motivo e a não realização de concurso público que provoca uma demanda de contratos temporários e consequentimente influencia no atraso do pagamento. Como solução para o problema foi apontada a realização do concurso público que segundo a opinião dos entrevistados sendo os profissionais concursados o repasse do governo federal fica assegurado para complementar à folha de pagamento dos servidores. Analysis of Causes of Delay in the Remuneration of Education Professionals in the Municipality of Ouricuri -PE abstract:The present study intends to contribute to the discussions about the need for valuation of education professionals, especially the remuneration of the contractors, specifically of the Municipality of Ouricuri Pernambuco. The objective of this study is to identify the factors responsible for the delay in the remuneration of the professionals hired, within the scope of the Education Department of the said municipality. In order to reach the proposed objectives, interviews with managers were carried out, in which several reasons were found to influence financial management, causing irregularities in the payment of contracted teachers. According to the research, it is concluded that one of the causes for the delay of payments is related to the transfers from the federal government, since the municipality does not have sufficient resources and depends on the complementation from the federal budget. Another reason is the failure to carry out open public examinations for permanent teacher positions, forcing temporary contracts and consequently influencing the delay in payment. As a solution to the problem, open public examinations were pointed out. According to the opinion of the interviewed professionals, the teacher being a permanent position the federal government transfer would be guaranteed to complement the payroll of the public employees.
