RESUMO: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a qualidade das informações de receptores GPS de navegação, com base nas obtidas com um receptor GPS geodésico. O trabalho foi constituído de cinco tratamentos, sendo quatro modelos de receptores de navegação e um geodésico como testemunha. Foram coletadas as informações de latitude, longitude e altitude em quatro vértices de uma propriedade rural. Os dados dos receptores de sinal de GPS de navegação foram visualizados com uso do programaGPS Track Maker PRO versão 3.4, sem efetuar pós-processamento dos dados, apenas transformando a altitude elipsoidal em ortométrica, através do software Map Geo versão 2010. Os dados do receptor geodésico com base nas informações da RBMC foram pós-processados no programa TGO versão 1.6 e comparados com os resultados obtidos nos receptores de navegação, utilizando a estatística descritiva, considerando a média das amostras, intervalos de confiança e quadrado médio. Os receptores GPS de navegação, em relação à testemunha, tiveram erros de 1,42 a 3,78% para cálculo de área e de 3,0 m e 9,0 m para posicionamento, não sendo indicado o uso destes modelos para atividades que necessitem exatidão submétrica.
