Los modelos matemáticos permiten formarse una idea determinada de la realidad, representan un instrumento para la solución de múltiples problemas relacionados con un determinado escenario, con el hombre y su interacción con el mundo. La nueva normalidad, a la que apenas comenzamos a descubrir, ha dejado huellas profundas en el pensamiento y quehacer humano en general, con todos los aspectos y actividades de nuestra vida cotidiana. En este sentido, la pandemia ha sido un catalizador de muchos eventos, entre ellos, la implementación de soluciones inteligentes en las diversas actividades del día a día, basadas obviamente en modelos matemáticos. El propósito de este trabajo es determinar cómo se han visto afectados los modelos matemáticos en la nueva normalidad, y en particular, en un factor que ha adquirido gran relevancia a nivel mundial, como lo es la disminución de la huella de carbono en los procesos, como parte de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenibles propuestos por la ONU. Se concluye que los modelos matemáticos, y particularmente los modelos estocásticos, se han visto afectados, siendo una herramienta clave para enfrentar los problemas en la nueva normalidad y particularmente la disminución de la huella de carbono, ya que, al integrarlos con las nuevas tecnologías, como la Inteligencia Artificial y con el Metaverso, se podrán determinar los resultados de distintos escenarios en la nueva normalidad, en tiempos muy cortos y se podrán analizar para determinar los más convenientes para la humanidad y tomar decisiones más asertivas.
La Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) considera como adulta mayor a toda persona mayor de 60 años. La evolución de las Ciencias de la Salud y la Ingeniería han permitido aumentar la esperanza de vida de las personas en las últimas décadas en la mayor parte del mundo. La atención del adulto mayor ha mejorado, pero prolongar la vida no exime de situaciones de salud propias de la edad tales como, enfermedades metabólicas, degenerativas y cognitivas que pueden expresarse como incomunicación, afectación en la memoria y el desenvolvimiento motor cotidiano, como lo es el Alzheimer. Se ha intentado plantear soluciones que fusionen las Ciencias de la Salud con las tecnologías disruptivas para resolver problemas de atención permanente del adulto mayor. Se han desarrollado servicios y dispositivos con capacidad de interactuar con las personas y servir de compañía, tales como Alexa y Google Assistant. El objetivo de esta investigación es estudiar si las tecnologías disruptivas pueden mejorar o atenuar las patologías que afectan las condiciones físicas y mentales del adulto mayor, realizando un diagnóstico básico de la condición cognitiva del adulto mayor. Se seleccionó Alexa como parte de la infraestructura del asistente virtual. La investigación es de tipo documental y requiere la revisión bibliográfica, tanto clínica como de ingeniería y el diseño de un servicio de asistencia con Alexa. Esta es una investigación en desarrollo. Posteriormente se realizará una prueba en adultos mayores, conforme a los estándares éticos aplicables, para verificar su desempeño y potencialidades.
En abril de 2022, el Reino Unido notificó por primera vez un aumento significativo e inesperado de casos de hepatitis aguda grave de etiología desconocida en niños previamente sanos. Desde entonces y hasta julio del 2022, se han notificado a la OMS al menos 1010 casos probables de hepatitis aguda de etiología desconocida en 35 países. El rango de edad de los afectados abarca entre 30 días y 16 años de vida. Los signos y síntomas más comunes son náuseas, vómitos, ictericia, malestar general y dolor abdominal. De los casos notificados, al menos 46 han requerido trasplante y se han reportado 22 defunciones. La Región Europea de la OMS actualmente notifica la mayoría de los casos y en segundo lugar la región de las Américas. Se espera que los números de casos fluctúen a medida que la comunidad mundial comprenda más acerca de las posibles causas y que se realicen investigaciones activas y retrospectivas en diferentes países. La infección por adenovirus detectada en los casos de hepatitis a través de reacción de cadena de polimerasa abre líneas de investigación para profundizar sobre el tema. En los diferentes países donde ha aparecido casos de hepatitis aguda grave de origen desconocido existe circulación de adenovirus, demostrando su posible papel como agente etiológico. Determinar la etiología de estos casos permite mejorar el entendimiento de la enfermedad para perfeccionar las acciones de control y prevención.
La metodología desarrollada fue la siguiente: • Conexión al Servidor Twitter con la cuenta de desarrollo. • Entrenamiento y test del modelo de análisis de sentimientos. • Lectura y procesamiento (streaming) de los tweets en tiempo real. • Evaluación y clasificación del sentimiento de los tweets a través de los indicadores: polaridad y subjetividad. • Almacenamiento en la Base de Datos de los tweets clasificados. Estas son las principales conclusiones: • El acceso e integración de las diversas herramientas tecnológicas se realizó relativamente de manera fácil para lograr la construcción de un prototipo de algoritmo básico de análisis de sentimientos. • El prototipo es una solución a la medida de las necesidades, construida con componentes de software de código abierto con amplio soporte por las organizaciones responsables y las comunidades de usuarios. • La presente investigación es solo un pequeño paso para la comprensión de tecnologías tan complejas como el análisis de sentimientos, como parte del desarrollo de la inteligencia artificial, y en particular, las máquinas de aprendizaje. Sin embargo, nos ha permitido evidenciar que ya no es un campo exclusivo de “sabios” ni “gurús” encerrados en laboratorios o espacios universitarios.
