Programación del riego en nogal pecanero (Carya illinoinensis), mediante un modelo integral basado en tiempo térmico* Irrigation scheduling in pecan (Carya illinoinensis), through an integrated model based on thermal time
Agriculture is one of the most productive activities of manking that strongly depends on weather variations. The presence of pests, diseases, nutrient efficiency, and water demand are associated to those variations. One agronomic variable that can be used as a tool to make more precise the management of crops is phenology, which describes the appearance of developmental stages as a function of time, as long as there's no evidence of external factors that can alter the plant such as water or nutrient stress. The current study shows the basic background information regarding potato crop phenology. Also, the results of phenological characterization as a function of time (growing degree days) for six potatoes cultivars grown in Sinaloa as well as practical applications in managing the crop and taking decisions.
