ResumoO seguinte trabalho se insere numa análise qualitativa onde procura investigar a utilização das analogias pelos professores no ensino de química, em especial no conteúdo de modelos atômicos, tendo em vista a importância da utilização de analogias no ensino-aprendizagem de química. Teve como objetivo apresentar como os professores fazem uso do processo analógico em suas explicações sobre o conteúdo de modelos atômicos e mostrar como elas são importantes, tanto para o professor na hora de aplica-las, quanto para o aluno na hora de entender conteúdo. A pesquisa foi realizada através de um questionário, onde foram feitas 6 perguntas subjetivas para 3 professores de química de uma escola pública da cidade de Francisco Santos Piauí e 3 de uma escola pública da cidade de Picos Piauí, as duas funcionam como ensino médio, as conversas se deram de maneira a colher o depoimento dos professores a respeito de como ministravam o conteúdo de modelos atômicos e também se os mesmos utilizavam analogias como estratégias de ensino ao decorrer do tema. Os principais resultados mostram a importância da utilização de analogias no ensino de química, mais precisamente no ensino do conteúdo de modelos atômicos, onde a grande maioria dos docentes utilizam analogias para facilitar na hora de ministrar um conteúdo e também para ajudar na aprendizagem do aluno, pois a grande maioria deles sente dificuldade em assimilar os conteúdos de química. A analogia apresenta resultados positivos quanto ao conteúdo de modelos atômicos, pois fazem uma analogia de algo que os alunos conhecem muito bem, com o conteúdo ensinado, que é algo totalmente novo para eles, fazendo com que haja aprendizagem.Palavras-Chave: Analogias, Modelos atômicos, professores, alunos, aprendizagem.
