Using kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of film growth with simple models, we have examined A 0.5 B 0.5 film growth in 2 + 1 dimensions and have compared it with new results for monatomic film growth. On the basis of data on the domain size, long-range order in each layer l, and surface fluctuations we examine the dynamic relation between surface-induced domain growth and growth-induced surface roughening.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
