is an efficient catalyst for the oligomerization of ethylene,
propylene, and 1-hexene, as well as for the cooligomerization of ethylene with alkyl acrylates.
Complexes such as Zr(BMP)(CH 2 Ph)[(η 6 -PhCH 2 )B(C 6 F 5 ) 3 ] (BMP 2-) 2,6-bis[(1S,2S,5R)-(-)-menthoxo]pyridyl) were synthesized and shown to undergo single insertion of ethylene into their Zr-carbon bonds to yield, for example, Zr(BMP)(CH 2 CH 2 CH 2 Ph)][(η 6 -PhCH 2 )B(C 6 F 5 ) 3 ], whereas R-olefins and cyclooctadiene afford diastereomeric mixtures of the general formula [Zr(BMP)(η 1 :η 6 -CHRCHR′CH 2 Ph)] + [B(CH 2 Ph)-(C 6 F 5 ) 3 ] -.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
