Artykuł poświęcony jezuicie – ks. Mieczysławowi Józefowi Kuznowiczowi. Urodził się 15 stycznia 1874 roku w Licheniu k. Konina, jako syn Wincentego i Józefy z Rachubińskich. W wieku 19 lat wstąpił do zakonu jezuitów w Starej Wsi koło Brzozowa. 2 czerwca 1895 roku złożył śluby zakonne. W roku 1903 przeniósł się do Krakowa, gdzie w miejscowym kolegium jezuickim studiował teologię, a także zaangażował w pracę z młodzieżą uczącą się zawodu. Święcenia kapłańskie przyjął 14 kwietnia 1906 roku w Krakowie. Był założycielem i prezesem Związku Młodzieży Przemysłowej i Rękodzielniczej pod wezwaniem św. Stanisława Kostki w Krakowie, przy której działała Centrala Abstynencka Kół Młodzieży. Uczestniczył w kongresach przeciwalkoholowych, prowadził wykłady o treściach abstynenckich, wspierał młodzież w wytrwaniu w trzeźwości od tytoniu i trunków. Zmarł 26 marca 1945 roku. Został pochowany na cmentarzu w Nowym Sączu. W roku 1963 dokonano ekshumacji i szczątki ks. Mieczysława Kuznowicza spoczęły na cmentarzu Rakowickim w Krakowie. He was born on January 15, 1874 in Licheń near Konin, as a son of Wincenty and Józefa née Rachubińska. At the age of 19, he entered the Jesuit Order in Stara Wieś near Brzozów. On June 2, 1895, he made his religious vows. In 1903, he moved to Kraków, where he worked with young people at the local Jesuit college and studied theology. He participated in anti-alcohol congresses, gave lectures on abstinence, supported young people in remaining sober from tobacco and alcoholic beverages. He died on March 26, 1945. He was buried in the cemetery in Nowy Sącz. In the 1963 exhumation Mieczysław Kuznowicz ramains were buried at the Rakowicki in Kraków.
Uważa się, że prasa regionalna jest ważnym źródłem umożliwiającym rekonstrukcję dziejów poszczególnych miast, osad, instytucji i stowarzyszeń. Tak też jest w przypadku „Gazety Kolskiej” (1932-1939), która na swoich łamach ukazywała życie społeczno – polityczne oraz kulturalno – oświatowe Babiaka. Z treści czasopisma dowiadujemy się o kilku ważnych organizacjach i placówkach, które kreowały obraz życia społecznego w tej osadzie. „Gazeta Kolska” podkreślała także ważne wydarzenia w życiu Babiaka, jak chociażby uroczystości z odzyskania przez Polskę niepodległości. Socio-political and cultural and educational life in Babiak in the 1932-1939 in the light of the reports of „Gazeta Kolska” It is believed that the regional press is an important source enabling the reconstruction of the history of individual cities, settlements, institutions and associations. This is also the case of Gazeta Kolska (1932-1939), which in its pages showed the socio-political life as well as Babiak’s cultural and educational life. From the content of the magazine we learn about several important organizations and institutions that showed a picture of social life in this settlement.

The inhabitants of the letter complained about the activities of Fr. Wacław Rybarski, who, in their opinion, humiliated them from the pulpit and persecuted some of the inhabitants. The article also attempts to show the relations between parishioners and the parish priest at that time.
