Abstract:The theological behaviour of a molten maize starch in low hydrated phase was investigated using a pre-shearing rheometer. This apparatus enables one to impose well-characterized thermomechanical treatment on the product before viscosity measurement. The influence of temperature, moisture content and intensity of the treatment were studied. The theological behaviour of the maize starch may be described by a power law with exponential dependences on temperature, water content and mechanical energy provided to the product before measurement.
HAL is a multi-disciplinary open access archive for the deposit and dissemination of scientific research documents, whether they are published or not. The documents may come from teaching and research institutions in France or abroad, or from public or private research centers. L'archive ouverte pluridisciplinaire HAL, est destinée au dépôt et à la diffusion de documents scientifiques de niveau recherche, publiés ou non, émanant des établissements d'enseignement et de recherche français ou étrangers, des laboratoires publics ou privés.
The morphology of a polypropylene and polyamide blend has been investigated with the Rheoplast rheometer which allows us to apply a well defined thermomechanical history before the capillary flow. The polymer flow in the Rheoplast has been modeled using a homogenization hypothesis for the rheology. Correlations between the different observed morphologies and shear rates, elongational rates as well as dissipated energies are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
