Zusammenfassung: Die chronische Hufrehe ist durch die Verlagerung des Hufbeins in der Hornkapsel und einer damit einhergehenden Verdickung der dorsalen Hufwand verbunden. Die Lage des Hufbeins kann lediglich mittels bildgebender Verfahren kontrolliert werden. Empfehlungen des Röntgenleitfadens werden als Absolutwert angegeben. Dieser bezieht sich auf Deutsche Warmblutpferde und damit nur indirekt auf die Größe des Hufes. Die Dicke der dorsalen Hufwand ist jedoch von der individuellen Hufgröße und der Länge des Hufbeines abhängig. Ziel der Studie war die Ermittlung eines praxistauglichen Quotienten aus Huf-oder Kronbein und dorsaler Hufwanddicke, welcher bei der Beurteilung der Dicke der dorsalen Hufwand unterschiedlich große Hufe berücksichtigt. In einem Vorversuch sollte getestet werden, ob verschiedene Film-Fokus-Abstände und zwei unterschiedliche Fokuslokalisationen Einfluss auf die ermittelten Quotienten besitzen. Weiterhin sollte der Einfluss unterschiedlich hoher Gliedmaßenpositionierung bei der Röntgenaufnahme sowie Altersunterschiede einbezogen werden. Für den Vorversuch wurden standardisierte Röntgenaufnahmen von 19 isolierten Gliedmaßen mit jeweils einem Fokus auf das Hufund auf das Krongelenk sowie zwei Film-Fokus-Abständen (75 cm oder 100 cm) angefertigt. Auf den entstandenen Röntgenaufnahmen wurden die Länge des Hufbeins und des Kronbeins sowie die Dicke der dorsalen Hufwand proximal (HW p ), mittig (HW m ) und distal (HW d ) gemessen und deren Quotienten gebildet. Im Hauptversuch sind retrospektiv 152 Röntgenaufnahmen von Kaufuntersuchungen von 76 Warmblutpferden untersucht worden. Diese Bilder wurden anhand der gebildeten Quotienten ausgewertet. Einerseits wurde getestet, ob eine einseitige Gliedmaßenerhöhung beim röntgen unterschiedliche Werte ergibt. Weiterhin wurde der Einfluss des Alters des Pferdes und der Zusammenhang zwischen Huf-bzw. Kronbeinlänge sowie dorsaler Hufwanddicke mittels der Quotienten ermittelt. Mittels Kolmogorow-Smirnow-Test bzw. Shapiro-Wilk-Test wurde auf Normalverteilung getestet. Gruppenunterschiede wurden mittels t-Test bzw. Mann-Whitney-Test, sowie mittels ANOVA bei multiplen Gruppenvergleichen untersucht. Das Signifikanzniveau lag bei p ≤ 0,05. Für Hufbein und Kronbein und die dorsalen Hufwanddicken wurden Korrelationskoeffizienten (Pearson oder Spearman) ermittelt (p ≤ 0,01). Im Ergebnis ergaben weder die Ausrichtung des Fokus auf das Huf-oder Krongelenk, noch die Wahl des Film-Fokus-Abstandes von 75 cm oder 100 und auch die Erhöhung ein oder beider Gliedmaßen um 2,5 cm signifikante Unterschiede bei den Messungen. Zwischen den Altersgruppen der jüngeren (≤ 5-jährig) und den älteren Warmblütern (6-bis 15-jährig) wurden bei den Quotienten aus Hufbein und distaler Hornkapsel signifikante Unterschiede festgestellt (p ≤ 0,001). Die gemessene Länge des Hufbeins korrelierte am besten mit den proximalen Messungen der dorsalen Hufwanddicke (r = 0,5; p ≤ 0,001).
