RESUMO -Quando a destilação convencional não possibilita uma separação eficiente de uma mistura azeotrópica, geralmente utiliza-se a destilação azeotrópica homogênea (destilação extrativa). O solvente utilizado nesse método altera os coeficientes de atividade da fase líquida e aumenta a volatilidade relativa dos componentes de interesse. Esse trabalho tem por objetivo simular, analisar e otimizar no Aspen Plus ® um processo de destilação extrativa para a produção de etanol anidro, usando etilenoglicol como solvente. Por se tratar de uma separação de alta pureza, simulações no estado transiente com o Aspen Plus Dynamics ® mostraram que a coluna apresenta longo tempo de resposta às perturbações e comportamento não linear. Com o auxílio da ferramenta Optimization do Aspen Plus ® foi possível uma redução de aproximadamente 9,6% do consumo energético da coluna em relação ao processo inicial, que foi baseado em dados da literatura. INTRODUÇÃODestilação é o processo mais importante de separação física, sendo utilizada em 95% das separações de fluidos na indústria química e é responsável por 3% do consumo da energia mundial (Engelien e Skogestad, 2004). Neste contexto, controlar e otimizar a eficiência energética dos processos com esse tipo de separação é uma ótima alternativa para diminuir custos e evitar desperdícios. Como a separação por destilação ocorre devido a diferenças nas temperaturas de ebulição, se os componentes possuem tais temperaturas próximas, a destilação convencional não se torna eficiente. Além disso, para determinadas misturas pode também ocorrer formação de um ponto azeotrópico, onde a composição da fase líquida é igual à composição da fase de vapor. Assim, é impossível obter produtos com pureza maior que a da composição azeotrópica em um processo de destilação convencional (Oliveira, 2009).Uma das formas bastante utilizadas atualmente é a destilação azeotrópica: homogênea (destilação extrativa) e heterogênea. A destilação extrativa é menos complexa e mais amplamente usada que a destilação azeotrópica heterogênea por causa da ausência de azeótropos e pelo fato do solvente poder ser recuperado por destilação simples. Esse método utiliza grandes quantidades de solvente, o qual altera os coeficientes de atividade da fase líquida da mistura, e dessa forma aumentando a volatilidade relativa dos componentes de interesse (Seader e Henley, 1998).Uma das maiores aplicações do processo de destilação extrativa é a produção de álcool anidro. RESUMO -O controle automático tem sido fundamental para o desenvolvimento da automação. O intuito da utilização de controle em processos consiste em atuar sobre as condições a que o processo está sujeito, na tentativa de atingir o mais próximo possível do ponto desejado. Esse trabalho tem por objetivo implementar o algoritmo clássico de controle PID e as estratégias clássicas de sintonia em plataforma VBA, no intuito de aplicação de sistemas de controle em plantas de processos, utilizando um sistema integrado com Aspen Dynamic®. Para avaliação da ferramenta, foi utilizada uma planta de processo composta por colunas de destilação de uma unidade de tratamento de Nafta modelada em Aspen Dynamic®, à mesma previamente validada com dados reais de planta. A ferramenta desenvolvida na plataforma VBA foi comparada com a disponível na plataforma Aspen Dynamic® utilizado na pesquisa, a qual mostrou desempenho final satisfatório. INTRODUÇÃOSistemas dinâmicos tais como plantas industriais estão sujeitos a perturbações diversas, e por isso se faz necessário controladores para que possam operar dentro das especificações desejadas. De forma geral, é importante que o processo esteja sempre próximo de um dado ponto estacionário de operação, sendo o papel dos controladores minimizar os efeitos externos que tentam desviá-lo desta condição. Os pontos de operação podem ser definidos a requisitos de qualidade, segurança, redução do impacto ambiental, adaptação às restrições inerentes ao processo, otimização ou resultado econômico do processo.De acordo com Luyben e Luyben (1997) existem quatro níveis de controle de processo. Movendo-se estes níveis aumenta a importância, o impacto econômico e as oportunidades para engenheiros de controle de processo para fazer contribuições significativas. O nível mais baixo é o ajuste do controlador. O segundo nível é algorítmico, decidir que tipo de controlador usar (P, PI, PID, multivariado, modelo preditivo, etc.). O terceiro nível é a estrutura de controle do sistema, que terá o papel de determinar o que controlar e o que manipular, esse nível é conhecido como "emparelhamento". O nível superior é um processo de projeto. Do fluxograma do processo utilizam-se os parâmetros de projeto que produzem uma planta facilmente controlável.Este trabalho tem por objetivo a implementação, em plataforma VBA, do algoritmo clássico de sistema de controlador PID, para utilização em plantas modeladas no simulador Área temática: Simulação, Otimização e Controle de Processos 1
