SummaryThe synthesis of [1,3-14C2]-glyceryl trinitrate ( [k]-GTN) labelled with quasi carrier free carbon-14 atom in the 1,3-positions of the molecule was effected in four reaction steps from 14CO2 ( 3 3 % overall yield). The chemical and radiochemical purity of [14C]-GTN was found better than 99% controlled by HPLC-Radioactivity Monitor and TLC-Digital Autoradiograph methods. Study of the radiochemical stability in dilute solution at 5 OC shows that the product can be stored at least for a month without detectable decomposition.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
