Le laboratoire national de métrologie LNE-LCM utilise un radiomètre cryogénique comme référence primaire pour réaliser ses échelles radiométriques et photométriques. Cet instrument est un radiomètre à substitution électrique qui fonctionne à très basse température (4,2 K). Il permet d'effectuer des mesures absolues de la puissance de faisceaux lasers avec une incertitude type de l'ordre de 5 × 10 −5. Un nouveau radiomètre cryogénique a été installé au laboratoire, et le présent article décrit sa caractérisation métrologique complète qui permet d'atteindre ce niveau d'incertitude.
