In this paper we analyze the behaviour of diflerent digital phase recovery techniques in the presence of a frequency oflset. Coiriparison is given in ternis of phase error variance and acquisition tinie. We show that the sliding block version of the Expectation Maxiniization estimator algorithm [4] for QPSK phase recovery, in presence of not negligible frequency errors (AfT xgives results which are coniparable or even betier than those of t h e Viterbi and Viterbi non decision aided non linear phase estiriiator [ll].
