Durch Umsetzung von Hydrazinsulfat mit Natriumboranat wird das Monoborinhydrazin in guten Ausbeuten erhalten, Fp. 61°. Löslichkeiten, Dipolmoment, Kristallstruktur und IR‐Spektren wurden untersucht. Bei der Pyrolyse wird rasch ein Mol Wasserstoff und ein Teil des Hydrazins abgeben. Aus den Reaktionsprodukten läßt sich unter bestimmten Versuchsbedingungen mit guten Ausbeuten H2BNHNHBH2 isolieren, das als Polymeres vorliegt und gegenüber Wasser und auch Säuren unempfindlich ist. Auch diese Verbindung ist kristallin und wurde durch ihr Debyeogramm und ihr IR‐Spektrum charakterisiert. Die weitere Pyrolyse führt zu wenig beständigen, teilweise explosiven Verbindungen der ungefähren Zusammensetzung (HBN)n, in der auch noch die NN‐Bindung des Hydrazins zum größten Teil erhalten ist.
Durch Erhitzen eines Gemisches von Lithiumnitrid, Calciumnitrid, Bariumamid mit Bornitrid auf 700–1000° wurden ternäre Nitride dieser Metalle mit Bor erhalten. Durch Variation der Mischungsverhältnisse konnte die Zusammensetzung zu Li3BN2, Ca3B2N4 und Ba3B2N4 ermittelt werden. Die Verbindungsbildung wurde nachgewiesen durch Farbänderungen, durch die große Löslichkeit in Wasser, bzw. verdünnter kalter Salzsäure und durch Debye‐Scherrer‐Aufnahmen. Die Infrarot‐spektren sprechen für das Ion NBN3−; lediglich in der Calciumverbindung liegt daneben vielleicht ein hochmolekulares Ion vor. Ähnliche Versuche mit Kaliumamid, Magnesiumnitrid, Gallium‐ und Lanthannitrid verliefen erfolglos.
