Bei eina eingehenden, vergleichenden Untersuchung stellte sich jedoch s&r bald heraus, dass dies nicht der Fall ist, dass vielmehr die beiden Verbindungen sowohl in ihren physikalischen Eigenschaften, als auch in h e m chemischen Vexhalten wesentliche Unterschiede zeigen. Dagegen scheint der durch Hydratation des Camphens entstehende Alkohol, welchen wir rnit Riicksicht auf die in Deutschland iibliche Nomenclatur ,,Isoborneol" nennen , iibereinzustimmen mit dem yon franzosischen Eorschern beschriebenen ,,Camphol instable" oder ,,Isocamphol", welches neben dem gewohnlichen Borneol bei der Reduction des Camphors gebildet wid.
