The present study aimed to identify and describe the main oral manifestations that occur in the most common diseases of the hematopoietic system, in order to elucidate how their identification helps in diagnosis, and also provides theoretical background for the adoption of an appropriate workup and therapeutic intervention of these pathologies. Data sources: Literature review was conducted to search the databases related to Health areas such as: SciELO, PUBMED, LILACS. As selection criteria, articles in Portuguese and English were selected, consisting of literature reviews, randomized clinical trials, case reports and approach of the proposed theme published between 2004 and 2014. Data synthesis: Although few scientific reports about oral amendments in the group of hematologic diseases, it was verified that its identification promotes a positive change regarding the diagnosis, since integrating medical and dental knowledge in a multidisciplinary team makes 217 Revista da Universidade Vale do Rio Verde, Três Corações, v. 13, n. 2, p. 216-235, 2015 possible a more appropriate approach, which allows to diagnose a systemic pathology through certain oral manifestations, along with other...
