A terceira edição da Revista de Comunicação Dialógica (RCD) está sendo publicada em meio à maior catástrofe humanitária desde a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Mais do que nunca, apontamos para a necessidade de diálogo entre posições extremas: de um lado, a negação do problema, que tem sido responsável por um verdadeiro genocídio em países como o Brasil e os EUA; de outro, o medo exacerbado, paralisante, que se preocupa mais em julgar do que compreender, o qual também tem levado ao adoecimento mental e, consequentemente, físico, de milhares de pessoas. Diante desse cenário, o corpo editorial da RCD busca um caminho do meio e se solidariza com as perdas de cada indivíduo e família nessa dura jornada. A recepção e publicação do artigo que abre este terceiro número foi uma das maiores alegrias da RCD até agora. Lembro como se fosse hoje o dia em que o companheiro Alex Vargas, então coordenador do recém-criado jornal Fala Manguinhos!, me ligou para apresentar o jovem Edilano Cavalcante, da equipe do jornal, que estaria interessado em acompanhar as filmagens para o documentário Mídia em Movimento. Ele chegou a participar de uma ou outra filmagem, nossa parceria com o jornal durou mais algum tempo, e nunca mais ouvi falar de Edilano, até que nos encontramos no final de 2019, num debate sobre comunicação comunitária na UFRJ, onde falei sobre o projeto da RCD. Que surpresa boa receber, alguns meses depois, a monografia de graduação em Comunicação Social, com habilitação em cinema e audiovisual, defendida recentemente por um Edilano hoje formado e atuando como coordenador do jornal Fala Manguinhos!. Sinto que nós, cada um ao seu modo e com suas respectivas experiências, crescemos juntos; e espero que possamos seguir nos encontrando pelas vielas cariocas, entregando jornais, exibindo filmes e criando novas representações sociais. O artigo "Olhar 'nativo' e 'estrangeiro': uma breve análise do cinema no Complexo do Alemão", que foi baseado na monografia de Edilano, nos traz ao atualíssimo debate sobre representação no audiovisual. Partindo de uma breve retrospectiva do modo como as favelas vêm sendo representadas na mídia de forma geral e, especificamente, no cinema, o autor
