Toward the synthesis of state-space controllers, a neural-genetic model based on the linear quadratic regulator design for the eigenstructure assignment of multivariable dynamic systems is presented. The neural-genetic model represents a fusion of a genetic algorithm and a recurrent neural network (RNN) to perform the selection of the weighting matrices and the algebraic Riccati equation solution, respectively. A fourth-order electric circuit model is used to evaluate the convergence of the computational intelligence paradigms and the control design method performance. The genetic search convergence evaluation is performed in terms of the fitness function statistics and the RNN convergence, which is evaluated by landscapes of the energy and norm, as a function of the parameter deviations. The control problem solution is evaluated in the time and frequency domains by the impulse response, singular values, and modal analysis.

Resumo -Neste artigo, apresentam-se os modelos e um método para análise da convergência de um algoritmo genético para determinação das matrizes de ponderação do Regulador Linear Quadrático. O objetivo de controle é a alocação de autoestruturas em sistemas dinâmicos multivariáveis, a qual é imposta pela lei de Controle Ótimo, e o objetivo do procedimento da análise é promover a aceleração da convergência por meio de métricas que estão fundamentadas em momentos estatísticos de primeira e segunda ordem. O desempenho dos modelos é avaliado sob o ponto de vista da construção da população inicial, populações do processo de busca e população final. A análise de convergência conduz ao desenvolvimento de regras baseadas em métricas da função de fitness. Os testes de avaliação dos modelos de busca genética e da eficiência da lei de controle são realizados em um modelo dinâmico de 6 a ordem que representa uma aeronave.

For proper attitude control of space-crafts conventional optimal Linear Quadratic (LQ) controllers are designed via trial-and-error selection of the weighting matrices. This time consuming method is inefficient and usually results in a high order complex controller. Therefore, this work proposes a genetic algorithm (GA) for the search problem of the attitude controller gains of a satellite launcher. The GA's fitness function considers some control features as eigenstructure, control goals and constraints. According to simulation results, the search problem of controller parameters with evolutionary algorithms was faster than usual approaches and the designed controller reached all the specifications with satisfactory time responses. These results could improve engineering tasks by speeding up the design process and reducing costs.
