Neste trabalho, objetivou-se aglutinar elementos para o uso mais adequado de casas-de-vegetação e telados, com a finalidade de experimentação agrícola. São discutidos os fatores água, temperatura do ar e irradiância solar no interior de coberturas artificiais, bem como o manejo do ambiente em termos de tamanho de vasos, seu posicionamento nas casas-de-vegetação e o uso da água de irrigação. Deve-se evitar telas de cor verde (reflete o verde e absorve o vermelho, usado na fotossíntese) e se deve ter os vasos sempre da mesma cor e tamanho.
Objetivou-se, com este trabalho, quantificar os efeitos de adubação nitrogenada e do bioestimulante aplicado nas folhas sobre a produção e qualidade da fibra do algodoeiro colorido BRS Verde. O experimento foi conduzido em condições de casa-de-vegetação do Centro Nacional de Pesquisa do Algodão (Embrapa-CNPA). A adubação nitrogenada foi aplicada em cobertura, nas dosagens de 0, 2,9, 5,8 e 8,7 g por planta, equivalentes a 0, 80, 160 e 240 kg ha-1 de N e o bioestimulante Stimulate® o foi nas folhas, em dosagens de 0,25 e 0,5 mL por planta, equivalentes a 250 e 500 mL ha-1. O delineamento experimental, em blocos ao acaso, tinha nove tratamentos e três repetições em esquema fatorial 4 x 2, mais uma testemunha adicional que não recebeu N nem bioestimulante. Foram avaliadas as variáveis relativas à produção (produção do algodão em caroço, peso de um capulho, número de capulhos, percentagem de fibra e peso de pluma) e às características intrínsecas da fibra (comprimento, uniformidade, índice de fibras, resistência, elongação, finura, reflectância, grau de amarelecimento e fiabilidade). Em relação à variável produção de algodão em caroço por planta, o algodoeiro herbáceo respondeu, de maneira linear, a dosagens de N de até 240 kg ha-1 (8,7 g por planta). O bioestimulante Stimulate® não alterou a produção nem interagiu com o nitrogênio.
Resumo O propósito com este trabalho, foi estudar o efeito da irrigação com água residuária e da adubação, com biossólidos na produção do algodão colorido. O experimento envolveu tratamentos que englobaram dois tipos de água (água de abastecimento e água residuária), quatro níveis de biossólido (0, 72, 144 e 216 kg de N ha-1), duas cultivares de fibra colorida do algodoeiro herbáceo (BRS 200 Marrom e BRS Verde) e duas testemunhas com adubação química NPK. A água residuária promoveu aumentos superiores a 400% na variável produção de algodão em caroço, independente do nível de biossólido e incrementou o peso de 100 sementes em mais de 35%, independente da cultivar estudada e do nível de biossólido. O número de capulhos por planta foi bem maior quando se usou a água residuária, cerca de 108,2% para a cultivar BRS 200 Marrom e de 85,9% para a cultivar BRS Verde. A água residuária possibilitou um incremento de mais de 255% na produção de algodão em pluma, para a cultivar BRS Marrom e de 370% para a cultivar BRS Verde. De maneira geral, para as duas cultivares testadas a água residuária elevou todas as variáveis mensuradas e o biossólido foi menos efetivo que a água residuária, na produção da planta do algodoeiro.
