Este artículo analiza los orígenes y las prácticas de actores transfronterizos inmersos en el contrabando de mercancías en la fayuca de Nueva Rosita en Torreón, región de la Comarca Lagunera. El estudio reconstruye desde una perspectiva histórica las transformaciones en las dinámicas comerciales desde el surgimiento de la fayuca en la década de 1980 hasta mediados de la de 1990 debidas al impacto del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (tlcan). Con una metodología de cor-te cualitativo, el estudio recupera las narrativas de los agentes transfronterizos para exponer el surgimiento del comercio informal en la región y su permanencia en el tiempo mediante redes sociales (i)lícitas, horizontales y sustentadas en los valores de lealtad y confianza. A partir de las narrativas de los entrevistados, se elaboran car-tografías para recrear las rutas del contrabando de tres ciudades fronterizas (Ciudad Juárez, Piedras Negras y Nuevo Laredo) a las fayucas de Torreón durante las últimas décadas del siglo xx.
