Surgical treatment of obesity and associated diseases, like any other field of practical medicine, is based on certain laws and conditions. All the principles of bariatric surgery were formulated in the process of accumulating a positive and negative experience of using various surgical interventions. The article presents an historical perspective on the evolution of views on the fundamental principles of the operative treatment of obesity and associated diseases.
The OBJECTIVE of the study was to evaluate the effect of bariatric operations on the course of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and determine the possibility of using non-invasive diagnostic methods for NAFLD. MATERIAL AND METHODS. The published data review of the NAFLD dynamics after bariatric surgery. RESULTS. Currently there is no common opinion on the effectiveness and safety of bariatric operations in NAFLD treatment. CONCLUSION. Further research and randomized controlled clinical study are needed.

В статье представлены анализ современных данных и собственный клинический опыт выбора методики ревизионных хирургических процедур у пациентов с избыточной массой тела при повторном наборе веса или развитии негативных побочных эффектов первичной операции.
During the long history of obesity surgery and associated diseases, a large number of operation techniques with different mechanisms of action have been proposed. However, all currently existing options for surgical correction of obesity have their advantages and disadvantages, ultimately determining the results and side effects of treatment. This circumstance determines the exceptional importance of the correct choice of methods for bariatric surgery.
