Women have been recognized as environmental activists and having a greater awareness of ecology worldwide since the 19th century. There are many stories of women activists worldwide who have developed significant models for protecting the environment. Social media’s popularity has changed how activists advocate their ideas to generate awareness and environmental protection participation. This study focuses on the grassroots women who join SSI and actively campaign for water and river conservation through social media. It attempts to identify how they use social media to campaign and analyzes their posts’ digital contents to understand their motivation for challenging the water river degradation and their value systems and insights, which drive them to take action. This study considers social media as cultural artifacts and providing spaces for social interaction. The researchers observe SSI’s posting behaviors and identify how they use social media for environmental activism to obtain the data. The finding shows two kinds of women activists join SSI: those who actively involve and participate in the campaign and those who click to support the activities. It also shows that the environmental activist women use social media to communicate their activities rather than maximizing its function to campaign to change the public perspective and attitude concerning the need to take care of the rivers’ water and riverbanks. Women activists continue to adopt dominant Indonesian patterns and social media use orders. Social media’s function is still seen only as a space for selfies rather than to develop a political message concerning environmentalism.
Ecranization is a wide-screening or transferring process of a novel into the movie. Ecranization can be a process of sifting or transferring or removing characteristics of a novel into a film. This study is written descriptive-qualitatively based on data collected from the results of literature studies. The data include primary and secondary data. Primary data covers the novel of AyatAyat Cinta published by PT Penerbit Republika-Basmala in 2005 which is also a material object, some quotes or dialogues in Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) by Habiburahman El Shirazy and the AAC film directed by Hanung Bramantyo. The study found that despite the fact both the title of the film and the names of the main characters are the same as the novel, but the rides from novel to film have separated and distinguished the distinctive features of the media itself with their respective rides, novel vehicles and movie rides. We can neither expect the loyalty of a film to the novel as the source of the story because there will certainly occur changes following the nature of the media and their respective lovers. It is important to emphasize that in distinguishing how to enjoy two different mediums it is necessary to appreciate the works of literature to avoid disappointment because of the natural differences that must exist between the film and the novel.Keywords: Ayat-Ayat Cinta, difference, ecranization, film, novel, media AbstrakEkranisasi adalah proses pemutaran film layar lebar atau transfer sebuah karya novel ke dalam bentuk film. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa kendati judul film dan nama-nama tokoh utama dalam film AAC sama dengan novelnya, namun wahana dari novel ke film telah memisahkan dan membedakan ciri khas media itu sendiri dengan wahana masing-masing. Terkait wahana yang harus diciptakan, kita memang tidak bisa mengharapkan kesetiaan film terhadap novel sebagai sumber ceritanya, karena pasti akan terjadi perubahan mengikuti sifat media dan pecinta karya sastra film tersebut. The historical approach reviews a problem from the point of historical overview towards the KSA’s visit, which addresses and analyzes it by using the method of historical analysis. The study is expected to provide information and categorization about the region of Jamaah Islamiyah, Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia. It is also necessary to obtain information about the influence of the King Salman visit in early 2017 to Indonesia concerning the growth of terrorism in the South East Asia primarily the Indonesia
Excessive religious and regional fanaticism has become a threat to the unity and integrity of the nation. Therefore, we need to re-explore the values of local wisdom contained in ancient texts. One of them is "Syair Nasihat". This poem teaches about a peaceful life in the frame of diversity. Besides, it is also taught to build a sense of togetherness and tolerance between ethnic groups, races, and religions. Thus, digging back into local wisdom is expected to be an alternative to strengthen the sense of national unity and unity which is now starting to fade. The research method used is the philological method and the method of studying the text. The results of this research are forms of representation related to the values of multiculturalism contained in the SN text.
