As águas subterrâneas tem sua grande importância principalmente em áreas do Nordeste do Brasil, de clima semiárido. Com relação à qualidade, a contaminação de recursos hídricos subterrâneos, apesar de mais lenta, é de mais difícil remediação. Fontes de poluição como lixões, vazamentos de combustível, cemitérios, lançamentos difusos de fertilizantes e agrotóxicos, podem estar penetrando no solo e aumentando as concentrações de poluentes nos aquíferos. Dependendo das características do solo e do aquífero, como a profundidade, os eventuais contaminantes podem adentrar com maior ou menor facilidade. Esse trabalho visou medir a vulnerabilidade dos aquíferos da região de doze sub-bacias baianas, avaliar a carga contaminante pontual e difusa que pode estar sendo imposta sobre essas águas, e, com isso, observar o risco de contaminação dessas águas na área em questão. Foram coletados dados hidrogeológicos de poços ao longo da área em sistema de informação do Brasil, e informações de possíveis fontes de contaminação em diário oficial e site de órgão estadual. Foram utilizados os métodos GOD e POSH para avaliar vulnerabilidade e carga contaminante na área em questão, respectivamente. Foram observados a maior área de vulnerabilidade na área da sub-bacia do Rio Corumbataí, a predominância de postos de combustíveis no cadastro de fontes pontuais. Foram mapeadas as regiões de prioridade de proteção na área total avaliada dividindo-se em área de proteção alta, média e baixa.

A avaliação da qualidade das águas subterrâneas é uma das importantes etapas que subsidia o enquadramento dos corpos d’água e auxilia no processo de gestão dos recursos hídricos. Analisar as condições de qualidade das águas é um procedimento importante para o efetivo gerenciamento das bacias hidrográficas, na medida em que mostra a situação atual para nortear metas e ações para alcançar uma situação almejada. Essa análise se dá através de parâmetros físicoquímicos e biológicos de qualidade. Alguns dos parâmetros mais importantes no âmbito de águas subterrâneas são cloreto, dureza, ferro, fluoreto, nitrato e sólidos dissolvidos totais. Este trabalho visa observar a qualidade da água dos aquíferos da região de Feira de Santana e municípios limítrofes no período de 2008 a 2018, através destes parâmetros citados acima. Para obtenção dos dados foi utilizada a plataforma SIAGAS - Sistema de Informações de Águas Subterrâneas do país. Foi observada uma porcentagem alta de pontos acima do limite da Portaria para os parâmetros dureza, cloreto e sólidos dissolvidos totais.
Os sistemas de informação do Ministério da Saúde são importantes ferramentas de planejamento das ações de saúde no território brasileiro. O Sistema de Informação de Vigilância da Qualidade da Água para Consumo Humano (Sisagua) oferece para toda a população dados sobre a situação do abastecimento de água para consumo humano, juntamente com eventuais problemas de qualidade que possam existir. É imprescindível para os gestores da área da saúde entender os maiores problemas de cada prestador de serviço de abastecimento a fim de oferecer água de boa qualidade para todas as pessoas, pois, uma vez que se trata de um bem público, todos têm direito à água de qualidade independentemente de sua condição social. Este trabalho averiguou os dados sobre a qualidade da água do estado da Bahia no período de janeiro de 2014 a março de 2022, com o objetivo de observar qual parâmetro de qualidade é responsável pela contaminações do recurso hídrico a ser consumido pelas pessoas, tornando-o fora de padrão conforme a Portaria nº 888/2021 do Ministério da Saúde. Através de gráficos de pizza gerados pelo Excel, foram averiguados os parâmetros que mais levaram a inconformidades. Foram observados, em porcentagem, os municípios que frequentemente ultrapassaram o padrão de potabilidade dentro da região. Dentro da região metropolitana de Salvador, o parâmetro cloro residual livre se destacou, seguido de cor e coliformes totais. A oferta de água doce limpa para a população é um dos pilares da saúde pública, sendo importante a constante evolução dos sistemas de abastecimento.
