El trauma dentoalveolar es un evento accidental o provocado que puede lesionar o fracturar los dientes, el hueso y tejidos blandos adyacentes. Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia de trauma dentoalveolar en la población de la parroquia urbana Yanuncay del cantón Cuenca en el año 2019. Método: Estudio transversal cuantitativo que contempla variables de estudio demográficas como: edad y sexo de los sujetos de estudio, además del motivo del golpe, la arcada dentaria mayormente afectada, el número de dientes traumatizados y la presencia o no de avulsión dental. Se utilizó una encuesta validada por expertos para esta investigación, la misma que se aplicó a una muestra total de 305 participantes de la parroquia Yanuncay. Se analizó los datos mediante el programa estadístico Statistical Package for the Social Sciences y para el análisis de las variables se aplicó la prueba de Chi cuadrado. Resultados:La prevalencia de trauma dentoalveolar afectó al 7,7% de los habitantes de la parroquia Yanuncay durante el año 2019, con mayor frecuencia en hombres (10,8%) que en mujeres y el traumatismo ocurrió principalmente debido a un choque con un objeto contundente. Conclusiones: Las encuestas que se realizaron demuestran una baja prevalencia de trauma dento alveolar en la población
