O uso de Cloridrato de Amiodarona é amplamente prescrito como forma de tratamento eficaz para arritmias em pacientes cardiopatas. Todavia, segundo estudos, esse medicamento possui a capacidade de acumular-se em alguns órgãos alvos, como tireoide e retina. No caso do acúmulo em região ocular, a Amiodarona pode ocasionar opacidade corneana, muitas vezes assintomática, que não se manifesta com perda da acuidade visual. A principal forma de detecção é através da consulta oftalmológica de rotina e pela fundoscopia. O quadro não interfere na qualidade de vida do paciente e não altera significativamente a visão, todavia, se houver qualquer dano ocular, indica-se a retirada, se possível, do medicamento.
O presente estudo objetivou analisar os índices de cobertura vacinal e taxa de abandono do esquema vacinal contra Poliomielite no Brasil e em Minas Gerais entre os anos de 2018 e 2021, a fim de avaliar as influências da pandemia nesses parâmetros da imunização contra Poliomielite. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e retrospectivo sobre a cobertura vacinal da Poliomielite, entre os anos de 2018 e 2019 (pré-pandemia) e durante a pandemia, os anos de 2020 e 2021 no Brasil e em Minas Gerais. Os dados foram obtidos do Sistema de Informação do Programa Nacional de Imunizações. Em análise temporal, são demonstrados dois recortes: pré-pandêmico e pandêmico, com resultados distintos, conforme esperado. Apesar da concordância entre os parâmetros nacionais e de Minas Gerais, é importante analisar as particularidades regionais. O estudo de Franco et al. (2020) que correlacionou a cobertura vacinal da Poliomielite no Brasil e variáveis sociodemográficas identificou que as regiões do país que não atingiram as coberturas adequadas foram as que apresentam maior Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano, maior escolaridade e maior acesso à internet. Ademais, não se observou relação direta entre assistência à saúde e o índice de cobertura vacinal. Dessa forma, o presente estudo identificou o baixo índice da cobertura vacinal no Brasil e em Minas Gerais no período pandêmico em relação ao cenário pré-pandêmico. Em contrapartida, a taxa de abandono ao longo dos anos de 2018 a 2021 apresentou alternâncias, demonstrando menor evasão do esquema vacinal da Poliomielite na pandemia em comparação ao ano de 2019.
