O câncer de pele é caracterizado por uma divisão anormal das células, podendo ocorrer em qualquer região do corpo, que, se acometida, apresenta enrugamento, mudanças na pigmentação e perda de elasticidade. Os cânceres de pele são divididos em melanoma e não melanoma, subdivididos em Carcinoma Basocelular (CBC) e Carcinoma Espinocelular (CEC). Assim, o objetivo do trabalho foi conhecer as características próprias de cada tumor, a fim de saber identificar quaisquer alterações que possam estar relacionadas a essa neoplasia e relacionar a mesma com fatores de risco, diagnóstico, tratamento e prevenção. O Carcinoma Basocelular tem origem nas células basais e possui baixa agressividade, já o Carcinoma Espinocelular manifesta-se nas células escamosas, podendo evoluir caso não haja tratamento. O tipo Melanoma possui a maior taxa de mutação, sendo o mais agressivo e raro, com alto poder de metástase. Os raios ultravioletas do tipo A e B são o principal fator etiológico da neoplasia, associados às atividades ao ar livre sem proteção ou dispositivos de bronzeamento artificial, bem como o esgotamento da camada de ozônio. As alterações na pele podem ser verificadas através do teste ABCDE, sendo o diagnóstico feito pelo médico por meio de exames clínicos, laboratoriais ou radiológicos. O uso de filtros solares diariamente constitui a principal forma de prevenção.
O Câncer de Ovário desenvolve-se nos ovários, sendo que, 70% das pacientes são diagnosticadas em estágios avançados e 90% das mortes são devidas aos subtipos de alto grau. O objetivo do estudo foi identificar as abordagens das produções científicas relacionadas ao câncer de ovário, considerando os fatores de risco e desenvolvimento tumoral, diagnóstico e tratamento. Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa de literatura através do PUBMED, SciELO e EBSCO, o critério de inclusão foram artigos científicos internacionais e nacionais disponíveis na íntegra gratuitamente, publicados de 2010 a 2020 e que consentissem a temática do estudo. Foram incluídos 18 artigos científicos no estudo. Cerca 90% dos carcinomas ovarianos são de origem epitelial. A patogênese é influenciada por fatores extrínsecos e intrínsecos, tais como histórico familiar de câncer de mama ou ovário, mutações em BRCA1 e BRCA2 e lesão precursora causada pela endometriose. Os sintomas inicias são inespecíficos e testes de triagem incluem exames de imagem, como ultrassonografia transvaginal e dosagem sérica de marcadores tumorais, principalmente CA-125. A distribuição dos glóbulos vermelhos, o volume médio plaquetário e osteoponina, podem ser utilizadas no diagnóstico diferencial de lesões malignas e benignas. O tratamento geralmente consiste de terapia local, com cirurgia citorredutora e radioterapia, seguida de quimioterapia a base de platina. Estudos constantes são necessários para aprimorar os métodos de diagnóstico e tratamentos.
Para a utilização da erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis) como planta medicinal, é necessário determinar concentrações e formas de utilização seguras e eficazes. Modelos in vitro de triagem de citotoxicidade fornecem dados preliminares para selecionar doses seguras potencialmente benéficas. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a citotoxicidade aguda de diferentes concentrações de um extrato hidroetanólico de folhas de erva-mate em dois modelos de células sanguíneas humanas. Para isso, eritrócitos e células mononucleares de sangue periférico de 10 indivíduos saudáveis foram incubadas com diferentes concentrações do extrato hidroetanólico de erva-mate por 150 minutos a 37°C. Após a incubação, foram realizados testes bioquímicos de detecção de citotoxicidade. A concentração de 1000µg/mL de extrato aumentou a hemólise, a fragilidade osmótica e a peroxidação lipídica em eritrócitos, mas não teve efeito citotóxico em células mononucleares. Estes dados sugerem que altas concentrações de extrato podem ser tóxicas para alguns tipos celulares e, por isso, concentrações seguras de utilização são essenciais para a recomendação da erva-mate como planta medicinal.
