O presente artigo buscou apresentar uma fonte inédita levantada pelo projeto Antigos regimes demográficos e os registros paroquiais: Minas Gerais, primeira metade do século XIX, realizada pelo Núcleo de Pesquisa em História Econômica e Demográfica – NPHED do Cedeplar/UFMG. A pesquisa teve como propósito estudar o regime demográfico existente em Minas Gerais em meados do Século XIX utilizando uma fonte inédita de dados que são os formulários preenchidos pelos párocos sobre nascimentos, casamentos e óbitos, em atendimento a Lei Provincial de Nº 46, de 1836. Essa foi uma Lei que contribuiu para uma vasta produção de estatísticas vitais e, através da pesquisa, é perceptível as inúmeras possibilidades de estudos da dinâmica demográfica aliando esses registros a outras fontes como, por exemplo, as Listas Nominativas de População. Neste artigo apresenta-se a fonte, o processo de coleta e o banco de dados construído, para divulgação no meio científico e para avaliação das percepções concebidas sobre a mesma.
Este artigo busca verificar, através de dados de 1.400 mães coletados em fontes do período de 1745 a1804, da freguesia de Antônio Dias, pertencente à Ouro Preto, os perfis desse conjunto de mulheres em idade reprodutiva. A base de dados utilizada foi desenvolvida na tese de doutorado de Campos (2012) e é construída a partir da união de registros paroquiais, listas nominativas e livro de tombos – um corpus extremamente rico, que permite entender parte da história dessas mulheres. O método escolhido para análise é o Grade of Membership (GoM), através do qual foi possível inferir quatro perfis “puros” no conjunto de mulheres em estudo, denominados: escravas africanas ou crioulas; mineiras e mulheres de outras partes da colônia; mães do fim do boom aurífero; e primeiras mães de Ouro Preto. Os resultados apontam que a dinâmica econômica teve forte impacto nos comportamentos captados nos quatro perfis delineados.
