Objetivo: Delinear perfil clínico-epidemiológico de pacientes oncológicos encaminhados a Cuidados Paliativos (CP).Método: Estudo retrospectivo, transversal, descritivo, de cunho quantitativo, que inclui 168 indivíduos com diagnóstico de tumor sólido atendidos em serviço público especializado em CP entre janeiro e dezembro de 2018.Resultados: A idade média foi 65,34 anos, e 50,6% eram do sexo feminino (n=85). A escolaridade de 70,2% dos indivíduos foi ensino fundamental ou menos. Quase metade (48,9%) eram aposentados ou beneficiários. Houve predomínio de religiões cristãs (47,8% católicos e 32,1% evangélicos). Os principais motivos do encaminhamento para CP foram controle de sintomas (45,2%) e progressão de doença (31,5%). O tempo de atraso de encaminhamento foi 2 anos e 8 meses. À admissão, os tumores mais prevalentes foram de próstata (17,4%) e mama (17,4%); 69% dos pacientes apresentavam metástase e 81,9%, dor. Durante cuidados, 55,6% dos pacientes tiveram controle total de sintomas, 32,2% controle parcial e 44,6% evoluíram a óbito, em média, após 12 meses. Destes, 72% faleceram na enfermaria de CP, e 77,1% não receberam medidas invasivas nos últimos 30 dias de vida.Conclusão: O perfil predominante de pacientes encaminhados a CP por câncer corresponde a idosos de ambos os sexos, cristãos e com baixa escolaridade. A maioria dos pacientes evoluiu com controle de sintomas, principalmente a dor, e não foi submetida a medidas invasivas em fim de vida.
