El proyecto VulJust: personas vulnerables y acceso a la justicia en la Unión Europea, con especial referencia a los ADR (Vulnerable persons and access to justice in the UE. Special reference to ADRs), tiene como principal objetivo sensibilizar sobre la existencia de personas vulnerables y sus dificultades para acceder a la justicia. Además, busca difundir y fomentar la investigación alrededor de las normas de la Unión Europea que buscan garantizar el acceso a la justicia de las personas vulnerables. Todo esto desde una perspectiva que resalta los ADR y Las 100 Reglas de Brasilia, 2018. Esta Cátedra Jean Monnet está cofinanciada por el programa Erasmus+ de la Unión Europea y es desarrollada gracias al trabajo en conjunto de diversos profesores de la Universidad de Cádiz (España) y de la Universidad Católica de Oriente (Rionegro, Colombia). Los coordinadores de dicho proyecto son Arturo Álvarez Alarcón (España) y Diana María Ramírez Carvajal (Colombia).
En tiempos de profunda incertidumbre marcados por prolongados y radicales cambios en las formas de vida, la comprensión del derecho y de su ejercicio se ven convocados de forma urgente en los escenarios universitarios para abrir paso al reconocimiento, la interpretación y la comprensión de las nuevas realidades que demandan propuestas urgentes para avanzar al que muchos siguen denominando retorno a la normalidad.
