El objetivo de este estudio ha sido analizar cuáles son las teorías sobre el aprendizaje de la lectura que se atribuye el profesorado de educación infantil y educación primaria según la metodología de enseñanza de la lectura que dicen utilizar. Para ello, contamos con una muestra total de 522 docentes que cumplimentaron un cuestionario atribucional que forma parte del programa tutorial LETRA (www.programaletra.ull.es) que está orientado a la formación del profesorado tutor y de apoyo para la enseñanza de la lectura. Los resultados nos muestran que los profesores que se atribuyen teorías sobre el aprendizaje de la lectura con una orientación sociocultural se inclinan más por un método mixto; los profesores con una orientación más conductista piensan que la repetición en sus ejercicios y en la instrucción es importante para enseñar a leer, y se inclinan más por la utilización de un método silábico y mixto. Por último, los resultados nos indican que los profesores que se atribuyen una teoría constructivista del aprendizaje se inclinan más por la utilización de métodos globales y mixtos para enseñar a leer a sus alumnos.
El objetivo principal de este trabajo es dar a conocer la contribución de la teoría, la investigación y el uso de las nuevas tecnologías a la práctica de la enseñanza de la lectura. Para ello comenzamos describiendo las principales aportaciones que se derivan del enfoque sociocultural, de la psicolingüística y de las nuevas tecnologías en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la lectura. A continuación, presentamos una síntesis de la investigación realizada en torno a la enseñanza de la lectura tanto en lengua inglesa como en lengua española. Se describen los principales hallazgos empíricos, y las principales implicaciones que se derivan de la teoría, la investigación y de las nuevas tecnologías para la práctica educativa.
El objetivo de esta revisión es dar a conocer la investigación realizada con niños que aprenden a leer y escribir en inglés como segunda lengua, focalizada especialmente en niños hispanohablantes que viven en Canadá y los Estados Unidos, ya que el auge de la inmigración de la población hispana en estos países ha propiciado un interés cada vez mayor de los investigadores por el tema. En este artículo se exponen las principales teorías explicativas sobre el aprendizaje de la lectura y escritura en una segunda lengua y, al mismo tiempo, se analizan las habilidades que son críticas para tal fin. Llegado a este punto se ha tratado de sintetizar el aporte de la investigación realizada hasta ahora sobre el aprendizaje de la lectura y escritura en una segunda lengua para, finalmente, abordar uno de los temas de mayor debate en este campo de estudio: el referido a las relaciones entre aprendizaje de una segunda lengua y dificultades de aprendizaje, haciendo hincapié en la importancia de encontrar mecanismos de identificación temprana para poder ofrecer servicios de apoyo que permitan prevenir dichos problemas, teniendo en cuenta la elevada proporción de niños de habla no inglesa que presenta dificultades en dicho campo.
