La presente investigación exploratoria y descriptiva fue realizada en un predio agrícola de Rosales, Chihuahua, en el cultivo de sandía. Se utilizó una feromona atrayente, por su olor, de abejas para el proceso de polinización del cultivo. La planta es monoica; por esta condición, la polinización entomófila es importante para fecundar la flor. Se aplicó 1.5 kg. de la feromona Nasanov a una hectárea de cultivo y en otro lugar del predio se ubicó la hectárea testigo. Se utilizaron catorce colmenas ubicadas estratégicamente en la hectárea tratada. La fecha de la aplicación fue el 4 de mayo del 2020, al inicio de la floración. El primer corte fue el 29 de mayo del 2020 en donde se observó una diferencia de 0.63 kg. más de peso en las sandías tratadas; el segundo corte también hubo un incremento de 5.33 kg, en el tercer corte se manifestó 1.334 kg en las tratadas y en el cuarto corte la diferencia por unidad fue 0.53 kg. en las tratadas. Las plantas tratadas con feromona manifestaron procesos de polinización a tiempo por lo que los frutos tuvieron un mayor peso, como se reflejó en los cuatro cortes, especialmente en el segundo. Se realizaron pruebas t de Student utilizando el paquete R Studio, los tres primeros cortes tuvieron una significancia menor a 0.05 por lo que se concluye que el incremento promedio en el peso de sandía tratada fue superior al testigo. La evaluación económica y financiera fue viable según los resultados de los indicadores: VAN= 37272.33, TIR=42%, Relación B/C=1.31.
