RESUMOEste trabalho descreve um relato de caso de parasitas intestinais encontrados em um suíno criado sob condição artesanal no município de Piripiri, PI, onde foi levado e abatido em matadouro de inspeção municipal de Teresina, PI. Durante o abate, na linha de inspeção, foi verificada a presença de alguns nematódeos da espécie Ascaris suum e de acantocéfalos da espécie Macracanthorhynchus hirudinaceus na mucosa intestinal deste animal. Os vermes foram retirados do intestino, colocados em recipiente contendo álcool e levados ao Laboratório de Parasitologia do Departamento de Parasitologia e Microbiologia do Centro de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Federal do Piauí para confirmação da identificação das espécies. A presença e a persistência de Ascaris suum no meio devem-se, principalmente, a sua capacidade de sobrevivência às condições ambientais, sendo altamente capazes de reinfectar outros animais. A transmissão por M. hirudinaceus se dá pela ingestão de hospedeiros coleópteros parasitados, importante fonte de infecção para o animal. No estado do Piauí, o relato da ocorrência desses parasitas em suínos não é conhecida, sendo importante uma avaliação mais detalhada em suínos abatidos em matadouros oficiais. INTESTINAL PARASITES FOUND IN SLAUGHTERED SWINE AT MUNICIPAL INSPECTION SLAUGHTERHOUSEABSTRACT This paper describes a case report of intestinal parasites found in a swuine, created under a handicraft condition in the municipality of Piripiri, PI, where it was taken and slaughtered in a slaughterhouse of municipal inspection of Teresina, PI. During the slaughter, in the inspection line, the presence of some nematodes of the species Ascaris suum and of acanthocephalus of the species Macracanthorhynchus hirudinaceus was verified in the intestinal mucosa of this animal.
