Ectopic scrotum (ES) is a particularly rare congenital malformation of the scrotum and commonly associated with other congenital malformations. A 2-year-old boy was presented with ectopic scrotum, low lesion imperforate anus, spina bifida and pubic diastasis since birth. There are various surgical methods available to be discussed in the management of ES. We performed correction of the ectopic scrotum and concomitant bilateral orchidopexy in one stage of surgery. This procedure is relatively simpler to perform and gives out favorable cosmetic result.

ABSTRACTBackground: Bladder stone accounts for 5% of all cases of urolithiasis. Bladder stones management has evolved over the last decades from open bladder surgery (sectio alta) to intracorporeal cystholithotripsy as well as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). ESWL presents to be a promising modality in the management of bladder calculi due to its simplicity and well tolerability. This study is thus conducted to present data on the safety and effectiveness of ESWL in the management of bladder stone patients.
Many epidemiological studies have demonstrated a high Background: prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in different parts of the world. The objective of the present study was to establish the prevalence of ED in a healthy population from Indonesia and risk factors associated with ED.We performed a cross-sectional study to estimate the Methods: prevalence of erectile dysfunction in relatively healthy males in Jakarta that aged 20 to 80 years old. This cross-sectional study utilizes a web-based survey containing a translated version of The International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) in Indonesian. Sexual domain functions in the IIEF-5 include 4 domains of erectile function starting from erection confidence, erection firmness, erection maintenance and sexual satisfaction. The mean age of respondents is 38.7±12.6 years old. Most of the Results: respondents were married (77.2%), had completed or undertaking tertiary education (66.3%) and worked in privately established companies (35.7%). The prevalence of ED was 35.6% (22.3% mild, 13.7% mild to moderate, 3.1% moderate and 0.8% severe). The prevalence of ED ranges from 6.5% in the 20-29 year old group, to as high as 88.0% in respondents aged 60 years old and above. Age, hypertension, stroke, history of heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, history of prostate operations and interpersonal stress are significantly associated with ED ( = <0.001, <0.001, 0.015 p-value 0.000, 0.01, 0.002, <0.001 and 0.022 respectively). The prevalence of ED in Indonesia is about 35.6%. The Conclusion: prevalence of ED in this study ranges from 6.5% to as high as 88.0%. Age, hypertension, stroke, history of heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, history of prostate operation and interpersonal stress are significantly associated with ED.
Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by a partial or complete encirclement of ectopic pancreas tissue around the duodenum. We report a case of annular pancreas in a 15 day-old infant admitted to the hospital with complaints of profuse and recurrent vomiting and loss of body weight. Non-contrast abdominal X-ray showed a dilated stomach with bubbles formation around the upper abdomen. An obstruction was noted and open laparotomy was performed. Upon laparotomy, pancreatic ring encircled the proximal duodenum causing an obstruction. Side-to-side gastrojejunostomy was performed and passage through the bypass was satisfactory. Four days after the operation, vomiting and bulging abdomen ensued. Contrast abdominal X-ray demonstrated filling defects at the level of obstruction and the anastomosis made. Anastomotic stricture was suspected and thus was corrected using Roux-en-Ygastrojejunostomy procedure. Postoperative course in this patient was satisfactory and patient was discharged after 24 days of hospitalization.
