En este trabajo se modela la difusión del parásito Toxoplasma gondii a través de su hospedero definitivo Felis catus (gato). La dinámica está descrita por medio de un sistema de ecuaciones diferenciales parciales definido en una región rectangular, con condiciones de frontera e iniciales, que combina un modelo tipo SIR con una ecuación de difusión para el parásito. El modelo considera transmisión indirecta del T. gondii al hospedero, al consumir presas (pájaros, ratas, ratones), y carne contaminadas por este protozoario, a través de una distribución uniforme; no se tiene en cuenta la forma infectante (quiste tisular, ooquiste o taquizoíto) del parásito; las tasas demográficas para la población hospedera se consideran constantes y se supone que no hay movilidad de gatos. Se obtiene la solución numérica del sistema y se hace la simulación variando algunos parámetros, equivalentes a diferentes medidas de control.
