La “Estrategia pedagógica para la comprensión de textos expositivos en estudiantes de cuarto grado de una institución educativa pública de la ciudad de Cali”. Tuvo como objetivo desarrollar habilidades de comprensión lectora de textos expositivos, relacionados con los aprendizajes: Identifica la estructura explícita del texto (silueta textual), y relaciona textos y moviliza saberes previos para ampliar referentes y contenidos ideológicos. Se identificaron las dificultades de un grupo de 25 estudiantes con relación a estos dos aprendizajes, después de implementar una estrategia didáctica donde se privilegia la activación de conocimientos previos (Mazón, Rojas y Vélez (2005) Llamazares (2015)) y la enseñanza explícita del texto expositivo (Bohaty (2015), Meyer y Ray (2011)). Los datos recolectados se analizaron cualitativamente, se observó el cambio en los aprendizajes mencionados y los desempeños en niveles de comprensión; literal, inferencial y crítico, especialmente en el nivel crítico, dado que los textos expositivos permiten desarrollar el análisis y la crítica, por lo tanto, se concluye que, el contexto, los conocimientos previos e instrucción explícita del texto, son factores que inciden en la promoción de la comprensión de los textos expositivos. Los estudiantes lograron movilizar sus saberes previos y los relacionaron con la nueva información, la estrategia permitió obtener información para el plan de mejoramiento en el área de lenguaje, específicamente en la importancia de incluir en los grupos de básica primaria el uso de textos expositivos, como mecanismo para fortalecer los diferentes niveles de lectura, atendiendo a los aprendizajes que se evalúan en las pruebas Saber.
